Anyone try this? And if so what kind of problems did you run into? I'm looking at getting a set of gauges and can't decide which mounting system to use. I just feel that gauges on the A pillar would block some of your side view.

I just got my Autometer pyro & boost gauges mounted in the 2 gauge windshield mount yesterday. I had a local guy do the install while I hung around. Took about 2 hrs. I didn't have the necessary tools & I'd rather pay someone than to mess something up. I had the gauges on the A pillar in my 01 & like the windshield mount much better. Got everything from Geno's.

Mark,

If I buy your mount that you sell and don't like it can I send it back? Also I am looking for a fuel pressure gauge and can't determine what I need to order. I am looking at the Isspro line.

Thanks.

PMcBride I bought the Isspro gauges pyro & boost but they didn't fit the overhead pod without modifiying. I also didn't like the pyro has a power box that has to be mounted somewhere to supply power to the pyro. I sent them back & got the autometer which are made for that pod & I'm happy with how they fit & installed.

How do you get all the lines up to the overhead????? The 4 gauge looks cool, and wouldn't mind getting them all in one spot, but just wondering how I'd run all the lines, there is barely enough room in the pillar for the pyro, boost line, and fuel pressure line. If they where all electronic I guess it'd be easier but mine aren't.

Anyone try the Dakota Digital gauges. The fuel pressure gauges are a lot less expensive than the autometer fuel pressure gauge.

I have a Dakota Dig FP gauge... Paid about 130 for It IIRC... . you have to buy a sending unit too... Works great... Anyone got a pic of an overhead mount installed?

Testraub and I just installed an oh mount for JApol. We loosened up the headliner, took out the a-pillar and run the wires tucked into the headliner, down the pillar and out through the firewall. Put the pillar back in and re attached the headliner, looks good.

I ordered an overhead mount with 4 holes from Guage Works. There is a lip that goes under the headliner and the mount is held in place with scotch loc. Had to drop the rear view some but not a big deal. I didn't do the install, Southeast Power in Tampa did it a few months ago. No problems so far. I have a picture but don't know how to load it. I did trim the back slightly to make a tighter fit against the windsheild for the scotch loc.

Gfrance,

The dealer that you purchased the ISSPRO's from should have included the R7799 extension cables for the Pyro and Trnas temp gauges. This 42" ext. cable makes installing them a snap.

We sell kits with your choice of A-Pillar or Windshield mount. If you choose the windshield option we;ll make sure you get all the minutia that you need to make it work. Things like the extension cables, 90 degree elbow for boost/fuel press gauge, 14' tubing kits, etc...

Any questions give us a call.

I just didn't like the way the Isspro fit in the windshield gauge pod. I could have wrapped black tape around to make it fit snug. You can't use the brackets behind the gauge, no room. The auto meter fits that holder perfectly. I guess I didn't read the fine print from gaugeworks that they were made for the autometer gauges. No need for transmission gauge in this truck. :D
