Purchased ISSPRO triple gauge set a month ago. Mounted on the GV custom console thing on the dash. Anyway, had ordered them because they were all black with red needles, just like the dash gauges. Looks good during the day. At night, all of the lights had different intensity. Pyro was real bright, fuel was about half of the brightness, boost was half again as dim (can't hardly see it). Ordered brighter bulbs for the two pressure gauges, helped a little but melted the plastic fingers off of the bulb holder. ISSPRO said they just do that and there is no way right now to fix it, but in two months, will have new cases on all of the gauges that will help with the lite prob, and that they won't warranty these. They said they would work something out on a pro-rate. Should I junk 'em and have them warrantied now and try something else, or wait for the newer style? Do any of ya'll have black and red gauges that work good? I noticed the "Autolites" only come in white. Thanks for your help... T

I bought VDO guages and am happy with the appearance which matches the factory gauges well. One has the large bulb, the other the tiny and I have not found colored replacements for the smaller of the two. I have not found the colored boots either. I grabbed blue and green permanent markers from the office a few weeks back and experimented with the color and the amount of ink on each bulb until I was happy. Blue was to blue and to dark. Green worked great. It was cheap too.

I vote for the VDO. I have the pyro, boost and oil temp. The two with big bulbs came with green boots. The one with the little bulb got the green magic marker treatment. All match the dash gauges perfectly.

Thanks guys. Had VDO's in the GMC, but weren't "vision series". Went to the VDO site and looked thru their catalog with no luck. Had to send them an E to request price and part #'s for the gauges. No response, yet. Need 50psi boost, 20 or 30psi fuel, and may stick with the ISSPRO pyro. My old VDO pyro was very slow to respond to heat... T

Go to a local Semi truck chrome shop. I believe they offer the "monkey rubbers" in different(thicknes) sizes and colors.

243 and dresslered, call VDO @ (540) 665-2428 and ask for the little green boots that fit over the small pyrometer bulb. I received an assortment of these free after I called them. Why they don't come with the pyrometer is anyone's guess. When I was shorted these with the purchase of my VDO Vision pyrometer I thought it was a fluke. After reading of this on the BB for over a year now, apparently they still haven't got the message. #ad
Irrespective, I still really like these gauges... and still the ONLY ones that match the '98+ OE Ram gauges.

If you really want some trick gauges with numerous features check out the SPA digital gauges. #ad

I have the SPA gauges and I love them. They really look sharp. They are expensive but I think they are worth it.

Thanks John, called for my green boot (but I must say the magic marker has worked extremely well).
