Ready to buy Autometers on pillar.

Where should I go in the Seattle area?

Is there a better mail order source?

Thanks, TC

Autometer Gauges

I got a good deal from Fast Lane West. Check Joe's prices and shop to see if there are any better. Phone 818. 718. 7050

Doug at smokin diesl gave me a good deal on the Z series autometers and painted the pillar too.

Can't beat that.

I got Diesel Dynamics/Autometer setup and I'm very pleased with performance and looks, as well as Diesel Dynamics customer service is great.

Gauge prices

I also received great service and prices from Joe at Fast Lane.

Give him a call, he'll hook you up... .

Bob

I plan on installing them myself. I'm new to diesels but wrench my own cars and HD. If I'm not 100% sure I usually ask or

do the unthinkable and read installation instructions.

Why do you ask? Are they that tough, or are you volunteering?

Autometer Gauges

I had my AutoMeter Gauges (EGt,transmission,Boost) installed. The white plastic tube (vacuum) was not long enough to reach from the engine to the inside. Had to buy an extension kit(with ferrals). There also wan't enough wire length. Because the fire wall hole was alreadly filled with other wires, he had to drill another hole for the new wires. He had some trouble getting the boost gauge to work as instructed. Don't remember what he did to finally get it to work. All seems to be fine, however. Oh by the way, if you have an e-brake, be sure not to stick the boost probe down too far. It will keep your brake from operating correctly.

Someone let me know what they paid to have theirs installed. Mine was more than expected ( all the time spent on it).

you could get your exhaust manifold drilled and tapped tomorrow. theres a BOMB get together 10/26 after 2:00

you would have to be nice though.

Rob's got all the right tools and nerves for the job

Hi,

I second Fast Lane Wests' great prices and service from Joe. I bought the Ultra Lights and they look excellent with a quartz interior.

Boost Probe?

I stand ( or rather lay flat on my face ) corrected.

Thanks, Bob. You are right. It was the temperature sensor.

I too bought my gauges from Joe Stewart. When I called him about the possible defect in the Boost gauge, he didn't hesitate to say he would mail one right away. Was especially relieved as I had bought the gauges this summer and didn't get them installed until a couple of weeks ago.

On a different subject, What readings should I be looking for(as normal) on my gauges? What readings should I be concerned about?

Fast friendly and cheap er than most. It's not a hard install. If you get the full a-pillar use it as a replacement and not a cover, that way you don't butcher your stock one. Just use the one screw at the top method. Do a search on that. Good luck..... Dwayne:cool: :D :) TDR RULES
