Is it still the same as a 305/555 and why does the dodge towing site not have an 04 quad cab choice? I will bet this was covered in issue 42 mine started on 43.

Ken Lenger has had this link up for a while - it is for the 04's, not the '04½'s. I believe there is an increase of 400# for the new trucks (I think the max towing went from 16,000# to 16,400# I also believe the GVWR's went up by 200# to 12,200#)

Dodge's site is terrible for this information. They have this information available to dealers but you have to find a dealer who knows what you are talking about.

Hope this helps.

BTW - Thanks Ken for all your great stuff!

Klenger, the last time I checked the Dodge site would not let me pick an 04 quad slt 4x4. I will try again. That is why I had the post. I still want to get some back issues anyway.

Dodge does "funky" things with thier website. In certain areas ( zip code info ) they will block out certain options. At the end of a run it seems they will block out the oversold options. You need a good dealer with the REAL DEAL ordering website to see what is actually buildable. - Look up tommygun. As long as it is not a unit for the communist states of CA, MA, CT, RI you will be fine ( need border states emission CERT label- same truck).

Here's an example for my truck from the link shown above. If you use the link above instead of trying to build a truck, I think it will allow any valid configuration to be selected. The build your own site has always been messed up.

I didn't have those specifics to try when I posted earilier. You are correct that the web site does not offer that combination, but the towing guide does show that combination. All capacities are the same for 3. 73 or 4. 10 axles.

For the auto:

GVWR = 9000

Payload = 2220

Base Curb Wt = 6775

Trailer = 13,050

GCWR = 20,000

For the manual:

GVWR = 9000

Payload = 1990

Base Curb Wt = 7005

Trailer = 12,850

GCWR = 20,000

The difference in weights is because the maual transmission weighs 200 lbs more than the auto. Hope this helps.

Thanks Klenger, I know it's to much to ask to have an updated web site from Dodge. My first plan was a travel trailer but after looking at the 5th wheels at the camper show, but the truck was ordered by then. 3500 srw would have given me more options.
