OK, I find this one a tad weird.
97 2500 Auto magic transmission.

The gear indicator has decided that "park" means that is where it is supposed to stay.
Of course that doesn't bother me too bad, pull the shifter down once, you're in reverse, twice, you're in neutral, one more time, you're in drive. Still nice if it worked!
Got a new computer, no CD drive and my manual is a CD from Geno's. Yeah, something I have to fix, but in the meantime, anyone have any idea?

As to the manual, get a friend with a CD drive to copy it onto a thumb drive.

The PRNDL on your truck works off a cable that runs from the cluster to the column. My guess is your cable is broke or has come loose. Have you been doing anything under the dash or had the cluster out? This video is of a newer model but it’s basically the same as yours.

Geez, WAY too technical GAmes! Gotta dumb it down for me.
Thanks Scott, I'll take a look in a day or so. No, I haven't had that bolster off in quite some time. I think it was when I installed a radio in the truck about a year ago.
My cure is to order a CD drive that plugs into a USB port, just to sorry to do so yet, this may speed it up!
Thanks,

George
