I know this has been covered as I have read it a while ago since I happened accross it and now I,ve searched for 2 days to find out what aftermarket synthetic will do the job?. 3. 55 gears lsd I think< Ialways leave two marks when I get on the throttle hard. A link or anything that is helpfull would be greatly appreciated. Hope this is the right forum as I didn't find any chasis/drivetrain for 2nd gen.

I use Royal Purple in mine. I had to add a little limited slip additive to get the right slippage for backing up to keep it from popping.

waba,

I use Amsoil Series 2000 synthetic gear lube, 75W-90 in my 1995. I also used it in the 2000 truck that I wrecked in November. I haven't changed the lube in the 2008 truck yet, but I intend to use it there too, unless the manual tells me something different.

I didn't add any friction modifier and the truck behaves well, with no tire skidding around turns, although that may be because the limited slip differential is wearing out. Both the 1995 and the 2000 truck had about 120,000 miles each.
