Ok another question.
I am going to Amsoil gear lube, but I am not sure which gear lube to use,is it 80W90 or what, the dealer don't seem to know, that don't surprize me,they say it never needs to be changed, well I know that is HOG WASH,so any imput would be helpful. Thanks... .

Go with the Series 2000 75W-90 or 75W-140.
The 90 is more than enough. If you have extreme duty and a lot of heavy towing, go with the 140. Neither one needs LS additive.

You can REALLY stretch the drains with these, but I change once a year anyway. I run 35,000 miles a year or so.

I agree with Gene.

I can add one other bit of info why it is a good idea th change the fluid about once a year or so. There is condensation that can build within the axle housing. The condensation builds because if you drive the truck and heat up the gear oil/housing and then you stop and shut 'er down for a while, the condensation will build inside the housing due to it cooling off.

I don't know how well Amsoil or other synthetic oils deal with this condensation, but it is there, especailly in cooler weather.

And you know how crazy the weather here is in Michigan sometimes!
