What gears you guys running in your trucks do you know if the make a 307 for the dana 60 or is it just for the 70 I am going to runn the nv4500 but mph would be real goood with the 307's thanks George

I have 3. 54 gears in my truck and they are great for pulling and driving at highway speed. The 3. 07 are made for both the Dana 60 and 70. If you are towing I would be hesitant with this choice unless there are no hills or you will have a lot of power vs weight. The 3. 07 will make the gaps in the gears of the NV 4500 bigger too.

I just changed mine from 3. 42 (Chev 14 bolt ratio) to 3. 73 and like it better for pulling. If you are 2wd like me, its hard to back up a heavy trailer without a low range to go into.

3.54's and 35/12.50-16 tires

GCobb, I have the above on mine. I didn't want to run quite so large a tire, but I did want to cruise 75 @ 1900 in OD. 3. 07's would have been my first choice, But I could not find a source for the ring and pinion gears, other than junkyard takeouts. Matt S, did you find a source? I may go ahead and do 3. 07's if you did.

I've seen them in Peterson's 4 wheel and off road. I'll find an add tonight for the 3. 07's. Should be able to get them through Dodge also but probably 4x's the cost!

ok fisrt got my named changed no longer GCobb I found out the dana 61 has thepinion moved over so the 307 gears will fit do it will not work in a dana 60 so I guess I will go with the 354,s thanks George

Wouldn't hurt my feelings a lot if I had a set of 3. 73's. I wonder what king of $ we are talking about to switch to them. I remember a man telling me each gear ratio is equal 10% reduction in fuel mileage.
