gear shift knob

This is a minor anoyance, but I haven't been able to fix it either. The shift knob pattern indicator on my 2005 with NV5600 is slowly rotating clockwise. When I took delivery on the truck, on March 19 it pointed straight up as it should. Now, first through reverse are pointing down to the right. I've tried to rotate the knob by hand but it won't move. Is the indicator a separate insert in the knob that is moving on its own? And, if so how do you move it? I haven't been able to with my fingers. Thank you for any info.

Jim,

It(insert) is seperate. You need to pry it up w/ a small screw driver(nice and easy) moving around the circle and then use a small dab of silicone and reattach it in place. It won't move after that.

Mine does the same thing Jim. Seems they all do it. I read in another post that you can pop it off with your pocket knife and put a small dap of silicone caulk under it and pop it back on. Let her dry and your good to go. Or you can use it as a handy oil change gauge. Mine takes 2500 miles to make a full revolution. So every 3 rotations it's time to change the oil. LOL
