Does anyone have experience with a 2500 4x4 QC 3:54 285 75R 16 tires and a GV overdrive? Did this help you mileage. I am running about 2200 to 2400 on the interstate and wondering if droping the rpms might help mileage and extend motor life. Are there any limitation on excessive loads such as truck pulls.

How fast are you running on the interstate? 90? That's the rpm's I run with 4:10's and 285's in an auto @75mph. I'd sayt that you're just above the "sweet spot" if you're over 2200 rpm, so a GV OD should help.

mr. PROSTAR, you got any burned paint on the front of your truck?

I have kept the 215/85s on mine, have a 4:10 with auto. At 70mph it is around 2200; without the GV on. With the GV about 1700.

Personaly, I would not put out the 3k for the GearVendor solely for extra fuel mileage. You never could get it back. I had mine installed for gear spliting. Also, I do not run in Dodge O/D when towing. Always 3rd and GVly

There are no weight limitations to my knowledge. My truck and 5ver, fully loaded for a long trip will gross about 26,000. No problems so far, about 60,000 on GV, 70,000 on truck. :D They do advertise that it is used on race cars, etc; however, I would want that in writting:rolleyes:

Apparently the final ratio on the auto is different than the 5spd. If memory serves @ 2250 my speedo is reading between 70 and 75mph. Granted the indication is low due to oversize tires. I have also noticed that my tach sensor appears to be on its last leg. (Swinging from zero to present rpm) I noticed this for the first time last weekend.
