I put one in my 96 4x4, had the drive shaft shorten and balance. Every thing was ok for the first thousand miles, then I started to get a vibration at 55 MPH. GV told me it was the drive shaft. I took the truck to another guy, who does a lot of drive shaft, After a month and three items stolen from my truck, he made a one piece drive shaft with the slip joint at the GV unit. I was glad to leave that place, but still had a vibration. GV reconmended a guy in Bakersfield and he made a one piece shaft that bolted to the
output shaft of the GVunit with a slip joint just after that. Looked good, but still had a vib. GV said to try hose clamps. Did that and it did help some. Loosen the engine mounts and drove it ten feet. Not much help. Tryed without the tires no change. (Most of the checks done on jacks) Then I read that someone had a shock mount on the GV unit. That dampen 95% of the vib. You know you can't use the exhaust brake in o/d, so when I decel and want to come out of o/d to use the exh brake, the transfer case and trans has to change rpm right now. I don't like the noise that makes. During accleration it's not noticalbe.
