Finally got around to installing the Fast Coolers and changed

the transmission lube to Amsoil Series 2000 75W90. 27,000 miles

and the stuff I drained out looked pretty good. About 3,000

miles towing around 7,700 Lbs, 15,000 CGVW. Pretty easy

life for this Dodge.

wow... you put the 75W-90 gear oil in the transmission, huh... .  That will be interesting to see if that causes any problems. Most people who use other than the recommended Texaco can't-find-it-anywhere lube usually go with a 30 weight oil. I, and several others use the Amsoil 5W-30 engine oil. I would think the 75W-90 is way too thick, but I am no oil expert. Just curious... ... ...

I did a lot of research on here, going back through the search

function and found many topics about the subject of NV4500

lubes to use other than the factory fill.

Nothing about problems associated with using the Amsoil

S2K 75W90. :)

He has a 5 speed NV4500 Tom, you have a 6 speed NV5600. The NV4500 uses 75W90 gear oil - the factory says you can only run Castrol Syntorq 75W90 but many are running Amsoil series 2000 75W90 (myself included). The six speed has completely different requirements and uses engine oil (which seems wierd to me to use engine oil in a GEAR box - but that's what you're supposed to run).
