Generator in tool box??

I am thinking of looking for a in bed tool box big enough to hold my Honda 3000Eu (which is 22" tall). I thought I saw one a while ago that had a door that swung out like in the bed, instead of on top. I think the other half may have been a fuel tank. Does this ring a bell with anyone??? Sarge

I have a Honda 4500 RV genny, in it's own box sorta. Had it in the bed of my 96 F350 for awhile. Gotta watch puttin air cooled gens in a box of any kind. Seems Honda has a overtemp limit switch. Mine would shut down every once in a while. I started leaving all the service doors open to improve air flow/cooling. Sort of a Redneck fix, now all the noise supression is out the window. DUH! Worked better after mounting the gen on an expanded metal rack on the back the fiver. Course that has it drawbacks too.

You might try Transfer Flow too. They have an add on the back of the current TDR and it shows combo fuel tank/box. www.transferflow.com

Hi, Sarge. Mountain Master RV and truck Equip. is here in Phoenix, AZ. They make what looks like a tool box but, it is actually a housing for a generator. The last I heard though, is they only put 1 kind of generator in it. I talked with those folks at the Quartzite, AZ. RV Show in January, of this year. They said that the only generator, a Generac, I believe, could be used because of the fresh air inlet and exhaust outlet and controls. This thing was so quiet that when I was standing next to it I didn't even know it was running. It's a slick setup. By now, they may have figured out how to incorporate other generators.
