Generator muffler

Gave the 290 Cummins gen-set some runtime Last night. It's not really loud but can hear a HUUUUUM from inside the house. Was wondering if a second muffler IN-LINE with the one already in place would work to quiet it more or would that cause to much back pressure ?

Once upon a time when I was stationed in Manhattan, I witnessed a movie shoot, and I got to get near some of the production dudes. One day there was a gen set truck just out my bay, and it was the type that have these doors that pop up and hinged mid way. I knew the shoot was going on, and I asked the dude standing by when he was going to fire that thing, and he told me it was running. He popped a side panel a 1/2” to prove it. I just couldn’t believe how quiet it was!
You could put a resonator on, but you might want to get something like dyna mat for further attenuation.
