How big of a generator would be needed to run a pair of 1000 Watt Metal Halide lamps or HID or HPS run on 120 Volt setting. Prefer the Metal Halide. I dont know but is it 1000x2 = 2000 watt gen needed?

Don't forget that a Gen rated at 2000 watts is really only 1600 watts. The 2000 is the surge and 1600 is the running power. So you would need a 3000 watt Gen which would have 2400 running power.
