Fuel Door

Been looking at them also. How many holes do yo have to drill into the body? The picture looks really nice. How is the quailty of the product?

Yo socal-rattler, what do you call a smart blonde?

Golden Retriever! Long hair version of a lab. :D

Headlight, I called Genos and they read the instructions over the phone to me... . supposedly there are no holes to drill, it uses the existing holes from the OEM installation. It should be here in a few days, so I will post my findings after I get it installed.

Love those Labs and Goldens ;)

Do Tell...

Seen this in the pages of Sport Truck and Truck'n, curious myself, but if Saint's getting one, I'm gonna have to myself.

First Impressions

UPS dropped off the door a day or so ago, will be installing it this weekend.

My first impressions... .

The material and workmanship appears to be pretty good. I got the brushed aluminum and although I am happy with the appearence, I would be curious to see what the polished one looks like.

The stock fuel door has a little 'rack' to hang the fuel cap on when you are fueling up... . this unit does not have a similar setup. There is a place to connect the tether for the cap, but no place to hang the cap. :(

I also noticed that when you press open the door, it hangs up a little bit, but I think it just needs some lube (WD-40 fixes anything ;) ) So i will try that and report results.

Hopefully by Monday, I will have it installed and I will post my findings.

Fuel Door Installed!

Well I installed the door this morning and I think it looks great. . really sets it apart from other trucks on the road! Very good fit with the opening for the fuel cap and the side wall panels.

It was a very simple install... remove two screws that hold the OEM door in place, remove a couple of rubber stoppers and then install the new door using the existing holes that held the screws and stoppers. Took a grand total of 10 minutes to do it. , and most of that was finding the right tools in my toolbox.

As I said before, I got the brushed aluminum door and it looks good, but there isalso a polished one you may want to consider also... . just depends on what you like.

Thanks for all the updates. Now all if have to do is place an order with Geno's, right after I convince the other half that it is really needed. :-{}

Whats the point?

What is this fuel door? I personally wouldn't want the fuel door to stick out like a sore thumb. Guess I am just curious if it is what I think it is. :D

It looks like this .....

Guessing that the one above is the polished version. I think I would prefer the brushed finish personally.

Didn't you read my earlier post?:D Just funnin with ya!!;) :D

LOL, don't worry, I know what to say when I want something. ;)

Seem the door would work great if you had an aft-axle tank. But I still don't see replacing the one you currently have.

I guess it is as necessary as more power... . oh, I understand now. :D :D :D :D

How is your fuel door holding up

Hey Socal- rattler you out there, just wondering how the fuel door is doing. I am interested and am wondering if you've experienced any problem with the install or magnet etc. If someone could post a picture with the door on a dodge, that would be great. The only other thing I would like to know, does it fit flush to the fender or does it stick out and how much. I will watch for an update, thanks... ..... :D
