Does it work with the 6 speed in the 3rd gens?? Seems like the shifter gets a little close to the console as it is. Loved it in the 2nd gens I have had and hope that it works in the new truck so I don't have to reach to the floor for my drinks.

Yes it works. But you half to use velco to hold the lid shut due to the latch does not adjust. In mine i do not use the cup holder close to me due to when you go into 6th the cup is in the way but the other holder is just fine and it works well.

Choppy

P. S. You can not shut the lid due to the none adjusting latch and do not try to slam it . I Got mine shut one time and had a really hard time trying to get it back open.

Shim the latch out with a couple of washers per the instructions that come with it... works great!

i have one on my 6 speed and i have no clearence problems. as for closing, mine closes ok. just close it down like normal, then give it a quick "love tap" right at the latch and it will click in place. and it is a little bit tighter to open up, but not hard at all

Anybody have pics of a "smoothie" with a 6 speed??? Those cup holders have got to be about the best aftermarket add ons I have ever bought for my 2nd Gen trucks.

I've had mine for a year or more. It works fine with a 6-spd although the gear shift does get close to the cup holder on the driver's side. No big gulps allowed on that side. I got the latch to work almost like factory with some shims (washers). Even if I couldn't have latched the top I still would have kept the smoothie. It really is that nice to have.

Ok,I bought three cup holders for our company trucks and none of them had anything about washer shimming in the dirctions. Please tell me more and how to do the shimming.

Thanks

Badunit... I just got my smoothie in yesterday from genos.

I am interested in info about what you shimmed with the washers??? Got pics or better description of the work?

Is there a way to easily mount it to the center. I got mine closed but I had to lift the center a couple of inches and slam it shut. It appears the pressure of the smoothie resting on the seat binds it so you can't shut the lid.

I don't have photos but here are a few links from a while back:

I don't know if Geno's has made any modifications to the smoothie since I got mine. In addition to the shims, I had to do some trimming of the smoothie at the latch to be able to close and open it. I cut out all the plastic below the latch handle because the handle was hitting the smoothie and preventing it from latching.

For the shims/washers, you remove the black trim ring on the underside of the console top then you can get to the screws that hold the latch. Put some washers under the screws. Be careful not to drop any. There is a limit to how much you can shim it; too much and it binds on the trim ring. When you're done it's still a little hard to shut but not too bad.

I didn't notice that the smoothie touched the seat but you could do what I do: I keep a road map book on the seat under the console. That raises it up a 1/4 inch or so.
