Anybody tried the slide-on mirrors that Geno's sells. My new trailer is wider than the old one so I need something like this. Don't really want to spend big bucks on the DC mirrors. Thanks for the help. .

wwcd2-Thats really all I am, a weekender that is. Still too young to retire so its camping a few days here and there. Guess I'll order from Geno's. Thanks for the reply.

I have a set. They are the next best thing to NOTHING. You can adjust them to where you want them and with in 5 miles they have gone off in a differant direction. I have just ordered a new set from KT sales in Yuma, Ariz. If you want my old set, I'll sell them for 1/2 off Geno's price and I'll pay the freight. But, I will confess, I would not be doing you a favor. Barry... .....

Barry-
Any additional info on the set your getting from KT sales? I have the heated power mirrors and don't want to give them up. But when I load on the camper, I need a little extra length.

I saw a set of the KTs while on vacation in Colo. They are strong. Stay where they are set. Have a bigger mirror and are made out of aluminum. I was impressed. Phone # Toll Free 1 877 321 1067 Guy's name is Keith Tyree. Web is www.ktsales.com Good luck, Barry... ... ... .

I use the Mckesh mirrors that Hensley sells,
They are perfect for my use. I can see completely down both sides of my trailer and with the optional convex mirrors I can see the bottoms of the tires as I'm backing into tight spaces. They are very easy to put on and have little to no vibration on the freeways. Ran around $150. 00, so a little pricey but worth it in my opinion.

Barry et al, thanks for the input. Thats one thing I love about this site-the more opinions the better the decision. Those KT mirrors did look alot stronger than the slip-on ones and for about $30 more. Thanks again for the website.

Talk about service! I ordered my set of KT mirrors on monday afternoon. This is Thursday afternoon and UPS just walked in the door with my new mirrors. Ripped the box open and took them out. Now this is something you can see with!!!!!!!! Is there anyone out there that wants a set of CIPA's cheap???

Barry! Strap 'em on and give us a freeway run. How much vibration?

Barry-with the heat y'all been havin in the Great State of Texas let me know if the mirrors just vibrate or melt!! Let us know how you like 'em. Thanks

I had the slip-ons and they worked great for three trips. But, the door slamming was too much and one of them broke. If they were a little beefier, maybe... ... ... ..... but
Barry, please give us a critique when you're ready. Thank you, Joe #ad

ROAD REPORT: They vibrate. Only because the base they are mounted to (stock mirror) vibrates. The 5X7 mirror on the end of the alum. square tubing does stay in place and even has a tension set screw on the back. They are not perfect, but certainly heads and shoulders above the rest of the clip-ons I have seen. And now you know the rest of the story... ... ... ...

Geno's mirrors work pretty good. They do go out of adjustment though. Get two small hose clamps. Pull the mirror off of the ball stud mounting carefully. Put a hose clamp over the ball stud and snap the mirror back into place. Jiggle things around until you get the hose clamp in possition and snug just a little bit. Put the mirror over your main mirrors and adjust. Take the slip on mirrors off and snug up the hose clamp, put them back on and check for alignment. Mine went 6500 miles this summer with out readjusting.

I've had the KT mirrors on two different trucks now. First was a 96, so when I got the Y2K had to get different mirrors because it takes diff. mt. brks. on the new plastic mirrors. Had 297K on the 96 and no problems. They do vibrate some because the stock mirrors vibrate. Eventually the one on drivers side will fold back when meeting a big rig on 2-lane or in const. area, so had to put a 3" SS hose clamp around small area where it folds back. I know this will be a problem if I ever hit anything with the mirror, but hated to be pushing it back out all the time. Whats nice about them is you still have your stock elect. adjustment for makeing turns, you can move them to see any obsticles.
I have to remove and replace mine a lot(delivering new 5ers to dealers) so when I got them installed just the way I wanted them, I drilled 1 small hole in each of the SS clips(holders) and used SS screw and fastened them on permanently. It doesn't look the best, but sure makes it easier to take them off and on.
Larry (man I'm tired from all that typing)
