I've had the KT mirrors on two different trucks now. First was a 96, so when I got the Y2K had to get different mirrors because it takes diff. mt. brks. on the new plastic mirrors. Had 297K on the 96 and no problems. They do vibrate some because the stock mirrors vibrate. Eventually the one on drivers side will fold back when meeting a big rig on 2-lane or in const. area, so had to put a 3" SS hose clamp around small area where it folds back. I know this will be a problem if I ever hit anything with the mirror, but hated to be pushing it back out all the time. Whats nice about them is you still have your stock elect. adjustment for makeing turns, you can move them to see any obsticles.
I have to remove and replace mine a lot(delivering new 5ers to dealers) so when I got them installed just the way I wanted them, I drilled 1 small hole in each of the SS clips(holders) and used SS screw and fastened them on permanently. It doesn't look the best, but sure makes it easier to take them off and on.
Larry (man I'm tired from all that typing)
