Any tips on installation of the hard plastic dash top cover... . looks pretty straight forward. Geno's tech said he just laid his on top of dash without glue... and no screws at defroster area... looks too simple to install.

I got the same one, I sanded the base (orginal dash) down with 80 grit and then put dots of glue around the perimeter and on points throughout the middle, laid the dash down and put 10 lb plates on it, let it set overnight, and it has not given any issues since I installed it a couple years ago

I had one on my 99 truck. I just cleaned and glued everything according to the instructions. The guy that bought my truck said he was surprised that my dash wasn't cracked. I had to point out to him that it had a cover. :)

replacement dash

i went with the complete replacement as mine was beyond fixing. It was so cracked that pieces would fall through the dash if I barely touched it. It is a lot thicker and stronger than cheap original dash. Even though it took me a few weeks it turned out pretty good.

I replace at least one a month... . replace or recover. I get the covers from Coverlay, and the dash itself from LMC... . The Coverlay's are my favorite, as they are fast and easy, and look pretty good for the time and money. I've got several in my own around here. I have a '98 that is really rough, but the interior is slowly coming around. A good washing, some seat covers (soon to be rebuilt seats), and that dash cover, and it looks pretty good from the inside... ... now if I could just cover the outside, peeling, nasty paint, we'd be good!!

Most customers are pretty happy with the covers. I think I've had two or three complaints, one from a guy that is never happy, and the other was a good customer, who didn't like the fact the new dash was so slick, as his notebooks and other things would slide across the dash... ... I ended up giving him a carpet cover out of a wrecker, and he seems pretty happy. I can't remember the third complaint... .

Where did you get the dash? Link?

Geno's garage

Bob, I got my dash from Geno's. It was very sturdy. It took me longer to put in the new dash than it did to tear out the pieces of the old dash. The reason for this is that when Dodge put in the original they decided to install screws underneath near the very bottom of the windshield. The only way to get these out was to cut them off with a pair of metal shears. I will warn you the replacement dash is not cheap, but is worth the money I paid for it. You will have to prime and paint it. I am not sure but I think it only took about a week to get the dash from the manufacturer.
