I just installed one, and am a little concerned about its threads. It went up into the pan about 1/2" before the threads "bit", as if the plug had pipe threads. I got about 3 turns on it by hand before I had to use a wrench.
I've verified that the factory plug's threads have no taper. Every time I've removed the factory plug, I've had to unscrew it all the way - its threads "bite" on the first turn.
Is this by design? Do I have the wrong plug for my 2001 ETH? Should I be worried about it?
Thanks for any info.
