Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Geno's ME kit

Hey guys -

I have been looking at Geno's web site and am thinking about the ME kit... I also have searched back posts regarding this subject. I know it is going to be loud... but how much louder then an aftermarket muffler? The site says 8-12 decibles louder then stock (I think thats what I read anyway)



Does anyone have a sound clip of the ME kit on their truck?

I don't have a sound clip..... no way to do one... . but I like the sound it makes..... not too loud but certainly better than the muffled hush it came with.

Next, think about taking the silencer ring out!

I just went to a local muffler shop and had them replace that section for me, it only cost like $40, I didn't have to get dirty, and it was done in 15 minutes, you may want to think about doing that.



As far as loud it's not much louder, the engine noise is still overpowering (especially when at idle or low speeds). My wife didn't hardly notice when I had it removed, she did finally ask one day if the truck sounded a little different to me. IMO it's not close on the annoyance scale compared to maybe say, removing the silencer ring (but to each his own).



I have no regrets.

This is one of those subjective things, and it seems to vary from person to person and truck to truck. When I did my Magnaflow I started on thursday evening, but had to cut it short, so I only had the stock exhaust off muffler back, it was so loud at highway speeds I could not use my cell phone! I know having a tailpipe would have helped somewhat, but I can't see it making that big of a difference. Don't get me wrong, I LIKED IT! But I have to show up at customers homes so it was not an option for me. Make sure you consider all your variables before you do this.
