HAS ANYONE INSTALLED ONE . HOW DOSE IT WORK MY OIL PLUG LEAKS EACH TIME I DRAIN THE OIL THANKS R A THARPE 97 RAM TURBO DIESEL

Works reasonable, a bit slow to drain and does thread up into the pan about 1/4", so unless you machine a spacer you don't get out all the oil. A good idea to use teflon tape on either the stock plug or Geno's, it ensures that there will be no leak. Above aside, I like the plug better than stock, and will be doing a spacer for mine.

I ordered one from Geno's and plan to install it on my first oil change, which should be in the next couple of weeks. It is constructed from machined brass and is very nicely made. I will probably get a brass spacer to keep it from threading too far into the pan. It is a little "spendie" but think it will sure make oil changes easier.

Installed a Genos Oil Drain plug the other evening when I did my first oil change. If you have a new truck, you might want to get under it and make sure the original drain plug is tight. When I went to remove it, I found it pretty loose ( certainly not torqued to 40 ft-lbs). I had heard suggestions that you might want to consider making a 1/4" spaced to use with Genos plug so it wouldn't stick so far up into the pan, preventing all of the oil to drain. I was unable to use the spacer I had made since the threads are recessed and a spacer will not work. I reused the large washer that was under the original plug and installed it with Genos plug. No leaks and am all set for future oil changes. Replacing the oil filter was also a "piece of cake". Just removed the large hose between the air box and turbo inlet to make some room. Removed old filter, filled new one with oil, and re-installed.

Bill, we had dinner with the North American distributor for the EZ Drain Plug last night. We spent a fair amount of time discussing your question. According to the manufacturer (and we will be doing a field test to verify), the EZ Change Drain Plug does not cause any fluid to remain in the pan that would not have been left behind using the stock drain plug. The stock plug will leave a small amount of fluid in the pan; the EZ change drain plug will leave the same amount of fluid, no more.

You guys might want to try this. Whenever I change oil, I let it drain fo about an hr. Then I pour about a cup in. With the plug still out. That last cup comes out black too. Regards, bilford.

Isn't the torque on the drain plug, 44 ft. lbs? That's what I torqued mine to. I had a small leak and then re-torqued it and so far no more leak. I'm going to add the OEM spacer at the next oil change.
