Gotcha,
, I posted the other day asking about prices on new 1/2 tons. While thinking about what I'd really like to buy I realized it's not available but could be.
All us old guys likely remember the Grand Spalding Dodges out of Chicago and Yenko Chevys. For you younguns, two hot rod type car dealers in the early 70's were taking new Dodges and Chevrolets and building the cars the manufactures wouldn't. Examples were 340 6pack Dodge Demons, and in 72 when the compression was cut to 8. 5 on the A motors, supercharged Demons.
The Yenko Chevys had L88s (big hp big blocks) in Nova's. BAD TO THE BONE CARS.
What needs to happen now is a dealer (or someone with deep pockets) needs to buy new trucks, minus engines and transmissions and install new electronic 4BT Cummins engines with automatics built to handle the 5. 9 Cummins, it should live and perform great (with a little bombing).
30mpg and you couldn't wear the engine out. I'd buy one in a minute.
Of course the EPA, lawyers, insurance industry and on and on make this a unlikely occourance. But I can dream.
Anyone else want one?
