Getrag 5 speed 1992 2wd

New member having trouble finding info on rebuilding the getrag. Is it worth it? What's the average cost for parts only. Are they readily available? 146,000 mi. and still going,but? I did find the info on nv4500 conversion. Thanks!

I stumbled across Standard Transmission & Gear (www.standardtransmission.com) while surfing the web for rebuilt transfer case for a Jeep Grand Wagoneer (gas). They have rebuild kits & parts for the Getrag. Even they think the NV4500 is the way to go when it comes time to rebuild. Check them out!

Hey,
I found this site some time back for some info on the 4500 vs Getrag. It seems like a horse apeice to me as the NV has problems too if you tow below 1700 rpm in 5th.
