My gutbag drips out a large silver dollar size every evening. I put a pipe on the wrench and really torqued er down, but I would like to obviously stop the leak. Does anyone use teflon tape, blue RV sealant, or anything similar? Thanks for the help.

I would first try teflon tape... . keep the tape confined to the last half of the threads and 2 wraps.

If that doesn't solve it... . buy a pipe plug at a hardware store.

are you sure its just the plug?

Mine was always a mess before my rebuild.

I went under with a fist full of wrenches and started checking things for tightness. Boy was I surprised. I slowed it down but it has been dry since my rebuild. Took my time and did it right.

Plug leak?

I am thinking along the lines with EZGZ. The plug is the lowest thing and any leak would weep down to the plug where it would drop off.

Ever check the fluid when the transmission is hot. The fluid is thin as water.

If teflon tape doesn't seal it, the leak is somewhere else. Seals? Side covers?

The guy that built my truck says there is a breather on the top of the Getrag that can weep slightly, especially if you overfill it. Although he showed me the wet spot, I have never seen oil below the truck when parked.
