Getrag perfomance parts

I've heard rumors that somewhere the is an outfit that is building and or selling high perfomance parts for the Getrag transmission. Such as larger bearings and diffrent reverse gears.



Anybody have any leads? I haven't been able to locate them.

I heard the same thing when I went into my rebuild and about went cross-eyed doing an Internet search. Asked my rebuilder the same questions and they indicated that the standard re-build kit had been more than adequate.



After looking at the condition of the gears (still had machining marks on the gears), shafting, and bearigs (routine wear associated with 11 years and 275,000 miles) that came out, I did not see any justification for enhanced performance parts.



If I were to routinely tow > 15,000 lbs with this rig I would go to a NV 4500 or NV 5600. The ol' Getrag probably isn't built or designed for repeated / continual loading in this towing range.
