getrag rebuild kit or parts where to purchase??

I did a search on getrag rebuild kits and did not get much back. I have to pull my 360 and would like to know where to get parts for it. I know I need to replaced the seals, and determione why 4th is so shallow, after that who knows. I don't want to go to the dealer for parts.



anyone here work on these, or does everyone just nv4500 it?

You can get Getrag parts here, but why throw good money after bad? Go for the NV4500!!!

You can get getrag parts from several different suppilers around the country. Standard has all you need and Man-Tran in Tallahassee Fla. Southern gear in Atlanta. There are others around. I bought the parts for the last rebuild I did from Man-Tran. I talked to Millissa. My dealing were completely satisfactory.



You can rebuild your transmission for a helluva lot less than the 4500. I have been in both and don't see that the 4500 is that much better. With 430k miles on my twd getrag, I am completely satisfied. If you are fwd, you will need to maintain the getrag a bit different. But if you maintain it, it will last as long as the truck.



If it isn't a secret, update your lead info so we know where you live. Someone closer to you might have better info.

Very good information, thanks. I did check out the 4500 swap, looks like about 2k, way to much for me. I have rebuilt dozer transmissions, this will be my first truck transmission. Not sure what to look for as far as potentail problem areas, I may be asking for help when i get her apart.



I do have the manual, will do some reading.

I replaced my Getrag with a six speed. However before I did it I had already purchased a NEW input shaft (still in box) and an overhaul kit. I also have the getrag which is still in good shape. If you are interested E-mail me and I will see what we can do . I also have all of the rebuild info necessary as I have already rebuilt mine once. John.

John, nice setup 6spd and a dana 80. Is that ontario county NY or canada? I just ordered the transmission jack kit. Can you shed some light onto why 4th is so shallow? How much is a rebuild kit? what does it contain.
