anyone else get ZAPPEd by static electricy every time you get out of the truck??... it doesnt matter if it is raining or brite sunlight high or low humidity... it gets ya... I have owned no other car that has done this with so much consistancy and such "zappness" ... . aside from draggin a ground strap along the ground (remember the old days?) any suggestions??

Whenever I exit, I have my keys in my left hand and touch a key to the door frame before setting my feet on the ground. Works fine, but of course I'm left handed so my keys are usually in my left hand anyway.

had same problem found a product called static guard in the super market since than no problemi have seen this in most super market it works

I never realized that you could get zapped that good. I have been leary of exiting my truck at times:{ lol. I havent tied it yet but now that I have stacks I can hear the turbo running say 5-10 secs after shutdown and I suspect it is acting like a generator. This is a test and only a test, I will wait a few secs before exiting truck to see if there is a difference. It can hurt at times:{

trust me... i try very hard NOT to exit my truck... I love it so much but I have to go pee once and awhile!!!... I should have got the leather... that is my wifes fault... ya ... I will blame her... she didnt want me to spend the extra $$ for it...

Sliding on the fabric does it every time... . use the Static Guard OR take a capfull of softner (clothes) to about a qt of water and spray this on the seats and mats (if you have carpeting) Use this all the time in my vechicles/work. Computers dont like the static and I'm usually good for about an inch + of discharge (OUCH!!!). :mad:

i get zapped every time in my 1500... makes me think about putting in one of those grounding straps some import's around here have [but i gotta put a titanium wear plate on the end of it :D:-laf:D:-laf]

Ouch!

I wear shorts year round, and my calf hits the nerf bar about 50% of the time. Quite a zap! The other 50% of the time, it seems to be my finger on the door. Not quite as bad, but I'd still like to avoid it...

Got zapped by my Durango when it had cloth seats. Has leather now and no zap.

I get zapped by rental cars with cloth seats pretty often.

Got zapped all the time (and badly) by my last two Rams with cloth seats. Static guard would help for a few days but then it would be back as bad as before.

I swore I'd never get cloth seats again. New Ram has leather and never a zap.

I put my hand on the metal part of the door frame when exiting the cab. I keep it on this metal until at least one of my feet is on the ground. I've done for a long time and it really works. Sometimes you'll feel a little tingle, but no heavy-duty zaps.
