my 03 2500 4x4 has 86k on the clock and has had very little in way of service done so far other than oil changes every 5k and trans. fluid 2x now and u-joints replaced at 30k, and the t-case fluids changed 1x. the a/c has to be charged every year cause the leak is so small they can't find it. but thats about it. brakes are still fairly good. don't i need to get the valve lash adjusted at 100k or ??? THANKS for the help.

Lessee... up to 100K miles I had replaced:

1 fan clutch

2 sets of tires

Front brakes

Front shocks

1 lift pump

RR serpentine belt

Radiator flush / full

at the following mileage I have done:

110K miles: Transmission / T-case / Diffs - fluid service

122K miles: New DTT transmission - present to myself

128K miles: New front u-joints

130K miles: New tires (again... )

134K: Water pump / valves adjusted

142K: Changed rear shocks

144K: Changed rear driveline u-joints

148K: Trans / T-case / Diffs - fluid service

169K: Two new Wal-Mart batteries (one was spewing... )

176K: Front axle u-joints (again) / upper & lower ball joints / front brakes (again) / front pinion seal / front-end alignment / new tires again

All good stuff - couldn't be happier with the truck. I think the service interval for the valve lash is like 125,000 miles. You might think about a radiator service when it goes in for valve adj.

At 100k figure on new ball joints and front wheel unit bearings. I just consider these as preventitive maintenance. With the weight of the front ends you don't get too much more out of those parts.
