Where should I get this done? Can't do it myself... should I go to Cummins? Have one near, but they charge $70 hr labor. Durn sure not going to Dodge. Any local Oil shop or Wal-Mart? Thanks for the help!

can't do it yourself

There has to be a TDR member in your neck of the woods that can help, providing thirst quenchers should help... ... ..... It's too easy to do to pay that kind of money.

Dixie-Dawg - don't go to Wal-mart!!!! I went there, had no choice really. First the grease-monkey broke his 3/8 drive trying to get the oil plug out. Tried to tell me that truck comes with a "special tool" to remove plug and where is it? Then he went into store to get the 15W-40 and as he's walking back I notice he has 2 jugs of 15W-40 and 1 jug of GTX.

I supplied my own filter from DC and I'm still wondering did he prime it first?

some options....

1. As suggested, fellow TDR member. Get your filters from Cummins or Geno's.

2. Do you know of a local, private mechanic whom you can trust? Take your own oil and filter.

3. Not all dealers are totally incapable of doing this right. A local dealer did my first change... . didn't want to mess with the welded filter at the first change. They let me get right under the truck and hood and watch the whole process, plus they let me bring my own oil and filter. The kid was careful, helpful, and conscientious. Cost me $25 for labor. I've done my own since.

I would not go to a quick-lube, Wal-mart, etc. Talk about very high odds for incompetency.....

One of you Georgia TDR guys/gals step up for Dixie.....
