Well, sold the Sportsman today... .

Gonna get a new Yamaha Rhino... . going to go look at the place that sells them tomorrow. On their website, they have several special Rhinos made up... .

I like this one the best... The Gun Metal blue is very neat looking

.

.

Another Silver/grey version

Not considering this,... . but this is what this place offers...

Take a look at this Rhino, It has BF Goodrich AT tires on it. They don't look too big so I wonder what size the tires are on them... ???

I have several Accessories in mind unless some of them are already on the vehicle,..... but I will be looking at aftermarket websites and E-bay and such for some neat items. So, any suggestions?... .

I don't go hunting, mudding or extreme off-roading. Just trails and dunes. ... Also a question, does the half-windshield "wind deflector" deflect enough dust out of the way or is it just a "sort-of" shield and a full windshield is better?

that big stuff will come later.....

I got the blue special edidion... was very lucky. when we got there, none were on the floor I wanted..... then 5 min. later, A truck pulls up and on it is 2 SE Rhinos... 1 was availabe... . I says "write it up!!" ... timing ... . and luck, is everything!!... .

I had them acc. it out with a Warn Multi-mount, Soft roof top (grey), Half wind shield, Over fenders, and bed rails. ... The SE comes with the LCD dig. display... .

I bought, at a couple of other places... ...

A center console, A CDI box, and inner fender/floor guards... . also got a billett whip holder... .

Good thing I make pretty good money... . I sure know how to spend it!!

Well I just added a couple of other things to the rhino..... Got a rear bench with a add on roll cage, And a better, more sporty steering wheel. Iwas also able to get a Shop Manual on CD... .

My "Garage" in my toy-Hauler is 12' x 8' so my Predator had to be hauled vertically for the rhino to fit.

Went to Home Depot, got some hardware, made a center pull and tie-down brackets, now my predator is secured to the wall. Enough room now for the Rhino... .

i would trade it for the kubota RTV 900 and get the diesel and that awesome trans with no dang drive belts. It has a hydralic lift bed. I turned mine up already and it smokes more than my race truck, ... almost.

We have a Diesel Mule, the Kubota, and the older Diesel Gator. As far as fun goes I would go with either the Rhino or the Artic-cat Prowler.

For the Rhino I would look at tires, the tires on my mule sucked untill I replaced them, I would look for a front and rear window with a roof it make life a lot more

pleasent.

please allow me to hijack for a moment!

I too am looking at the Rhino for my wife to ride the kids around on. most OHV parks and campgrounds we go to dont allow pasengers unless the unit is designed for them. I plan to install a roll gage over the bed and use a jeep style seat and seat belts to hual the kids in the bed. some fella made the mistake of posting pics on his kit on ebay :D I dont buy what I can make myself and plagiarism goes a long way in my line of work.

Here is my delima. The tool-man-taylor in me says "get the 660 and hop it up" my wife's voice ringing in my ears (constantly, BTW) says "get the 450 and save a grand" I'm leaning hard on the 450 but was wondering what all your thougths were on the resale value of the two. I dont want to be stuck with a V6 mustang if you will, down the road and have trouble selling it. but the grand I save I can put nice wheels and tires and a winch on the 450.

whacha think?

Unless your buying it from me, don't buy the 450. :D

The 450's are not selling. Too low on power. Just a word of warning, if you go with the 450 you will be sorry.

If all you want is wheels and a winch go with the Limited model and buy you a winch.

same thoughts here too. the 450 is just too low. If you are using it for farm utility work then the 450 might be enough for that. The 660 needs that much if you are hauling more than yourself and kids and going for fun areas. Right now my Rhino has Maxis tires and aluminum rims..... they look like they will do OK ... just not climb a steep sand hill.

This is mainly going to be driven by my parents and 2 dogs as passengers. the 660 is the most popular and will have the better resale if/when you sell it.

My other quad is gas and the fuel station on the trailer is gas for the gen. so I don't need 2 fuels... . The belt system works if you don't abuse or try to destroy it. I had a sportsman for 3 years and 800 miles when I sold it for the rhino and it still looks like new. (the belt).

I don't know the specs right off hand but I think the Kubota has less ground clearance. the rhino has 12" and the only advantage of the Prowler is it has 3" more wheel travel... .

So anyway, can't wait to get all these parts on and go play... ...

My new engine for my truck is getting built at a machine shop. when that is done, I'll take the truck down to get he block swapped. . might take another week or so... the macinist was out sick for a few days... .

Ive Got a Grizzly 660, and its got PLENTY of power. Thats almost 1 cc for every lb. of machine  :D

It just depends on what your using it for, but hey the way i look at it, bigger is always better :D

How's this for bigger is better. :D 6" lift + 30" Mud Lite XT's = 16" of ground clearance. TEXAS size! ;)

thanks gang. My gut instinct was to get the 660, just wanted to hear it from somebody other than the guy trying to sell me one. I found a good deal on a new 06' 660 out of TN for $8454 out the door. I think I'll call him back in the morning and get me one on the way. :D

Get the most POWER you can get. I think the 450's are fine for old folks who just want to plink around. I ain't that old yet. I have a Grizzly 660 and I love it. It will blow the doors off a Kodiak 450. Plus, the Rhinos are slower because of the extra weight. That sounds like a smoking deal for $8,500.

The smoke is rolling out my barrel now..... I just pulled the tigger on the deal. $9036 is the total, I had to pony up another $582 for tax and title once I get it home. Unless you count my fuel nad time to go and get it :D That's still about 2K cheaper than any dealer around here. One quoted me 8899 before any of his dealer charges (frieght, set up, documetation) plus tax and title.

Now I get to make a road trip to Jackson, TN next weekend. :D
