Posted in the 4th gen forum, not gettin any action. .

Having an issue with the truck losing power at speed, typically above 40mph, going up a hill.

Had the truck into dealer on tuesday 5/29, they changed out fuel pressure sensor. Loss of power came back about 2 hours later, no CEL. It finally came on today about noon, while creeping thru downtown traffic.

Any ideas? dealer is not having much luck so far. . I changed the air filter that same day (tuesday), no change. (it had 14k on it) Will change fuel filter tomorrow, but it only has 5k on it.

This problem has been occuring for a month now. Far as I remember, I got the p2579 first, then the p0191 about 2wks later

tnx for any help

P2579 - Generic

Type

Powertrain - Auxiliary Inputs - ISO/SAE Controlled

Description

Turbocharger Speed Sensor Circuit Range/Performance

P0191 - Generic

Type

Powertrain - Fuel and Air Metering - ISO/SAE Controlled

Description

Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance

I don't know what the cause is or the fix but the last time I had a code that was related to turbo speed sensor range/performance I ended up with a new turbo.

Didnt have one issue or error until I took the truck to them for a 50k cleaning/service... I had them clean the intake/egr, and a few other things. . Sure looking like they damaged the turbo speed sensor while doing the clean. .

Possible the 0191 is a companion to the 2579, or caused by an issue in the turbo? I`m thinking when the ECM defuels, because it detects an improper turbo speed, the fuel pressure spikes, and the sensor takes a hit, causing the error... ? just a guess. . drivin me nuts tho.
