I am getting ready to install a different turbo and a set of injectors on my 96.

I have been reading up on the head studs and had a question about installation. Can I drain the antifreeze and install the studs one by one without changing the head gasket?

I didn't drain any coolant when I installed mine - no problem. I installed them in the standard torque sequence for head bolts and torqued them to about 90 lbs. I then retorqued them in standard sequence up to about 121 lbs. Sometime later, I did a retorque, but did that in line sequence.

I'm still on the original head gasket.
