I have found a 93 250 4x4 cummins the truck has 203,000 miles

the truck is extremly clean and looks to be well taken care of it is

an automatic and he says he replaced alot of the front suspension

and steering parts is this normal or something I should look out for, all the guy used the truck for was to pull a bass boat and he has had it since it had 53,000 miles on it, keep in mind this is going

to be my first cummins and this is my first post he want's $6,500

for the truck, should I stay away from it or go buy it,just wanted

some oponions before I went and bought it thanks alot.

Sounds like a pretty good deal!

Replacing the worn-out front-end and steering components shows that he wanted to keep the truck in good condition. I would think this is something that you want to look for when buying a truck with that many miles.

I have also done the same thing on my 94' with 146k miles.

Sincerely,

Tim

Sounds like a pretty good deal. You can't go wrong with a 1st generation. My truck has 175K on the clock and is still going strong. Good luck with your purchase.

Is there anything else I should look for when I go back tommorow

I'm really anxious about this truck but I can't afford alot of problems when I get the truck. thanks alot for the replys this is a

great forum and the people are great too.

The front suspension parts go bad if they don't get grease. Keep them greased and they will last. Brakes can be another problem area as well as the grease seals on the rear axle. Good trucks though. I'm not sure used trucks in you area but you could probably talk him down on the price a bit.

Hey Rothman, Tim here, I'll give you an idea what the trucks are selling for her in Portland Oregon. Todays Oregonian ad reads as follows 93 Dodge Ram 4x4, low 53,000 miles, auto, air, fire chiefs vehicle, excl cond, 6500. 00 503 6546051 Hope this helps you. Tim

:(

Rothman, sorry but I missed the fact that the truck I posted was probably a gas engine. I wouldn't be afraid of the mileage though if the truck has been taken care of, I would see if there is any in the classified on this site. Have a good holidays. Tim:) :) :)

I'm like Case500. My truck has 169K and doesn't use any oil. Keeps running better all the time:D

Engine is fine but you can expect some things will need work. Injection pump, door gaskets, Brakes, etc. All the "normal" things.

I'm on the third automatic transmission but some of that is because the truck is stronger than before(see signature) $6500 for a 4x4 in decent shape sounds like a good deal.

Try DodgeRam.org,

I found some interresting common failures in the TSBs ,tech service bulletins. If you haven't bought the truck you can check for them and talk the price down. If you have it, you can check and have more piece of mind that it's OK.

Good Luck
