Getting rid of daytime running lights?

I have a 01 2500 with the unfortunate daytime running lights. I read an article saying you could deactivate them by cutting the ground wire but it would also deactivate the fog lights. Anyone know how to get rid of daytime running lights with out killing the fog lights?

Day time running lights are required in Canada,do you have a Canadian truck? I think they can be deactivated at the dealer with the drb scan tool.

The guy I bought the truck from was from Canada but I'm down in Ohio. Ill call the dealer and see what they have to say. Thanks

Look in the Power Distribution Center under the hood, there should be daytime running light module, you my be able to just unplug it. bg

Dealer can deactivate.

On my 99 you just pulled out the reverse light fuse and it also put out the drl's.

I wish my truck had day time lights, Much safer for the other guy to see you. Now if you don't care about the other guy, disconnect them. :{

in the fall and winter season, i run with full lights on all the time
[doesn't help that i go to work in the dark and 75% of the time i come home in the dark]
