Getting the truck ready for TS, the clock is ticking!

Truck got new paint on the cab, box paint is fresh as of Spring 07, but the cab had original paint. We had some hitch & suspension tweaks to do so we had the body shop leave the box off for us for easy access.



Shop is a filthy mess right now!

Getting the motor in for air-water IC mock up etc. I didn't realize INTERNATIONAL blocks were made as far back as 96, I thought only a VERY few 98s were made, apparently they had at least 2 castings by International!

About the tappet cover: Generally, on high hp engines, the blocks move around enough to blow out the tappet cover gasket. This billet tappet cover is installed with a sealer called "the right stuff" (similar to silicone). This allows the block to flex while also keeping the tappet cover sealed.



It is also used to allow for clearance of ROLLER lifters/tappets

Very good investment!!!!!!!

I blew my tappet cover gasket out, it wasnt fun with all that oil all over and haveing to get towed home that night.

If your pumps off, do it now B/C you can not replace the Tappet cover while the pump is on

Great looking job AGAIN!!! A1 job... . about the shop looking a bit messy. I find the best things I make come out of my shop when it looks just like that! I love that red motor... reminds me of only 2 short years ago when I did mine.
