About a month ago I pulled the preheater bowl off. Cleaned it out and reinstalled it again. It was doing fine till now. It is leaking again.

The rubber gaskets that I ordered from fleatgaurd are a little under sized. They will not stay in the bowl groove. Only way I could get them to stay is to stretch it out.

I had the square O ring break. The Cummins replacement was too small too. I just went down to a supplier and bought a round O ring that fit properly ( 50 cents or so). Works great!!

I just replaced my screen. There are two sizes of square cut rings. One fits the bowl perfectly and although I didn't check for sure, I believe the smaller one is for the top of the heater element.

You may be right. But I'm still leaning towards the gasket for the bowl. Just because it was dry for almost a month. I've been keeping an eye on it. You probabaly recall me having issues with it before.

Sounds like the way to do it. What store did ya go to? I was thinking of using a oil filter gasket. Don't know of a filter that would match though?

I just went to a bearing house in town with the cap. They measured the groove and had a standard o ring that fit perfectly.

Bought two. One for a spare.
