What's with the magazines???

i hardly ever agree with the critics when they don't like something and i usually like comic book movies, am looking forward to it coming out on disc. i stopped going out to watch movies years ago after i figured out how much money just buying the dvd saved me, vs paying for the ticket and 1/2 gallon of watered down of dr pepper, large order of stale nachos (with extra peppers) and when i like the movie i buy the disc when it comes out, i figure i am saving $10-20 a movie and now have a collection that could shame a small rental store :D

i figured that out long ago too. . i've got somewhere along 500 retail movies on dvd. . then i figured out the whole bit torrent deal. . figure out what i want, find a copy to DL and set it up before going to work. if there are lots of seeders, i'll have a complete copy by the time i get home from work. haven't purchased a dvd in 6 months or so [sometimes you do find a gem in the walmart bargain bins. . ]

Letterman was talking about it last nite. He said it was a cool movie. Now if we could just find a babysitter- we havent had a nite out in 6 years, 9 months, 2 weeks & 3 days. But Oh what a nite---

The previews look pretty good. I like Nicholas Cage anyway, but throw fire, motorcycles and special effects in, and you probably got something.

My wife gave me dirty looks tonite because I let my son (8) watch Little Miss Sunshine with me. I thought it was a family movie (I swore I saw a G on the back of the box) and let him keep watching when I realized it wasn't. (maybe the Ghost Rider preview should've been a hint) I had a little talk with him about the grandpa snorting powder up his nose. He was unphased about the F word being used so much. (he's heard it before) He really enjoyed it.

He thought Ghost Rider looked pretty cool, but I'm thinking it might be too much for him.

Ghost Rider is probably too scary for anyone under 12 or so. Some guy behind me brought his young kids (maybe 8 or 10 years old) and they were both terrified.

There's a lot of stuff in the movie that gives young kids nightmares (demons and what-not).

There's a lot of stuff in the movie that the rest of us think is awesome (flaming chains, flaming motorcycles, flaming skulls).

I loved it.

Despite being panned, it made $44 million over the weekend. Puts it #1 over the $22 million made by the much much higher-rated movie "Bridge to Terabithia".

Guys,

The bride & I went to see this movie. We have learned NOT to place a lot of trust in the critics. :-laf

We both thought it was great. In fact , the audience clapped loudly as it ended!!!!Oo.
