Kinda long, so bear with me...
Pulling the Fifth-Wheel across the country from California to Wisconsin, I love my truck, and I don't have gauges, so I pay attention on uphill grades, downshift when needed as to not lug the engine, pay attention to how much throttle I'm using to keep EGT's down, blah blah blah...
Well...
Somewhere in New Mexico, I'm going up a LONG gradual grade in sixth gear, and there's a truck in front of me going just a bit slower than me(I think it was a ford, but can't recall... but good for argument's sake)
Well, the girlfriend says "Pass Him"
I could tell I probably wouldn't gain any ground in sixth to get around him... so...
I downshift to fifth, RPM's go up to where they're happier in the 'Ol powerband, and I get ready to pass the guy.
But, being the considerate guy I am, I see the line of traffic coming up in the left lane, decide I can't make it around this guy without slowing them down, so I wait...
Well... the girlfriend says jokingly... "what, haven't got the balls?"
Well to quote one of my favorite movies... Raising Arizona...
"Now y'all without sin can cast the first stone"
But I feel that I can now do whatever it takes to not place her in that situation again
So... wanna keep the stock clutch as long as possible, that being said, I feel that a better exhaust and plug-in-box is the very least I need... so...
is an entire 4" exhaust that much better than a good aftermarket muffler added to existing exhaust...
and are the digital gauges that are part of the TST box accurate... of course I'm talking about the EGT's specifically...
I appreciate you hanging in there through my long story, if airbox, exhaust and plug-in-box don't do the trick, I am fully prepared to go the injector-turbo route... if only to keep the Missus happy... of course
