Newbie with a new truck

What year to buy?

In this holiday season, I am giving THANKS for my Dodge/Cummins, and the very few problems it gives me.

What else are you thankful for this season?

I've been looking for a used car for my teenage son (helping him get started), and the number of problems out there with everyday cars is unbelievable, even newer model years with reasonable miles on them. Oil leaks, engines with sludge problems, cooling problems and leaks, crappy brakes, lousy suspensions, all kinds of electrical problems, even some pretty fundamental design flaws.

Thank you, Cummins engineers!

I give thanks for both on my trucks (with ctds), my good health and that one my of my younger brothers with great medical attention came through a lung problem in Nov. and a massive heart attack in late DEc.

I am also thankful, for one the best vehicles I have owned.

People DO not take care of the vehicles and maintenance, Oil changes, brakes, wiper blades etc.

Fortunately, my son came by the house recently so I could assist with his oil change and figure out what was causing a wobble in his front end (95 mazda protege).

He pulled his car into the garage, I told him take the left front wheel off so we could check. He was amazed to find all of the wheel lugs loose, left front.

Tightening up the wheel lugs solved the wobble problem, lucky the wheel didn't come off while moving.

Easiest things are often overlooked.

We went to the store to get an oil filter and wiper blades.

Wiper blades were shot,,,,,

No matter how often you express the need for basic maintenance, it is often neglected or overlooked.

Good luck on finding a good, maintained used car.
