Can't say enough good things about the product and Richard, who sells them.

I put one on my '02 a while back, and adjusted the pressure to 15 at idle. It never drops below 10, it's quiet, the install was easy, and Rich spent a lot of time on the phone with me helping me figure out another problem (bad fuel pickup).

Her's a pic of my install:

I replaced my fuel lines with Glacier's product from the tank to the VP44. Zero problems since...

I have the 392 kit and it is great!! Richard is the best to deal with and will go above and beyond to help you out if you have problems. It is way better pump and very reliable in my opinion. I too had pickup tube problems in my '02. Make sure you get the inline filter too that goes in the line between the suction end of the pump and the tank. The pump has a fine screen in it and will plug easily from the crud in the tank. Ummm speakin from experience here

What they Said!!! It went Great and Works even better!!! Oo. Runs at 16 PSI and I can pull it down to 14 PSI. Love It  :D :-laf ; Richard has the best customer service, too! He even awnsers the phone on Sundays!!! Moose

You allready know my feelings on this unit! I am getting 20psi at idle and it has never dropped below 14psi wot. Like everyone else said, Richard is great to deal with and knows his stuff.

I like mine. When I called Richard to order my system I told him I had to drop the tank to get rid of the in-tank pump. I needed a piece of fuel line from the tank to the pump. He said he was just cutting some fuel line to length for his kits. He said I have a piece right here. It was 6' in lengh. Richard said I'll throw this piece in for nothing. He didn't have to do that. Thats above and beyond customer service in my book. Jeff

I'll tell who else is top notch... Eric at Vulcan. You can buy from either one of these guys. I've called and e-mailed both of them and they will take the time to figure out what you need. My fuel system is a real mix of Vulcan/Glacier and now works perfect.

Thanks guys... great products and service.

Mike

I was my usual skeptical self when the Walbro pumps hit the scene - we've seen SO many "latest and greatest" "ultimate fix" setups hit the scene - only to ultimately reveal about the same failure/problem rate per hundred units as the stock pumps they were replacing (no, I don't have actual rate numbers for various aftermarket setups - but the reports are out there for those who want to dig!).

As it has settled out, the Walbro, combined with the support hardware several outfits are offering really seem to live up to the hoopla and expectations. Oo.

Too bad my own OEM pump and added Carter pusher are still working so well - and that I have a full set of spares in reserve - otherwise, I'd like to give the Walbro a try... ;) :D

The dealings I had with Richard were top notch on his part. My fuel delivery is a bit of a hybrid. I could also recommend the Vulcan kit as well, Eric is also top notch to deal with.

Gary, this email I received from walbropumps.com seems to confirm your suspicion:

I really need the part number to figure this out. The Walbro's don't run to good on diesel

Hello,

I know of several people that are using a Walbro electric fuel in place of the Carter electric ‘lift pump’ on my 2001 Dodge Diesel, but they can’t remember the part number.

I would like to order one or two if you can determine which Walbro Pump will fit in place of the Carter.

Thanks,

XXXXXXX

Now thats the answer I got from them, what gives? Are people using them on diesel anyway and working ok?

If you check with Holley diesel isn't recommended for thier pumps either. With the Walbro you are derating the pump so much that it is a non-issue. If you search on TDR you are not likely to see anything about Walbro pumps going out, but you will see quite a few threads complaining about FASS, Air Dog, Holley, and of course, lets not forget Carter. As far as the e-mail you got, I am surprised, since gerotor style pumps are also used as oil pumps.

Call Rich @ Glacier and ask him about this reply from Walbro. I'm sure he'll be able to explain / clear up.

Also, as some of the others have said Eric @ Vulcan is a top notch guy too. -MHO
