Who all has the Glacier GFS-392 lift pump system? Looking for good/bad opinions on it. Especially versus a FASS or Airdog... .

I'm lookin at adding injectors and need to supply them more fuel than my relocated stock pump.....

I have one on my 03, nice install, good instructions, and customer service is excellent! I have very few miles on it, but so far it's all good!

I have had mine since Late May or Early June after my "$70 campaign" lift pump failed in about 6 months. Difficult to pull it down under 15 psi. I have been very inmpressed. Cummins should have had a pump like this in the trucks to begin with.

I installed the Glacier kit with about 140k miles on my 03. Installation was straight forward with excellent instructions and all items that were needed were in the kit.

Had one pump fail after about 40k miles. I had a spare pump under the back seat, so replacing the pump took only about 15 minutes. Sent the pump back to Glacier (still under warranty). Glacier determined that one of the brushes in the motor was completely worn out - the other looked new. Was evidently a defective brush. Glacier sent a replacement pump which is now under the back seat. Have about 120k miles on this pump with no problems. I like having a spare pump available - think it was a little over $100.

I had a problem last winter with gelling fuel. Think it was the switch over to ULSD causing the problems. Fuel was triple dosed and still gelled! The Glacier pump has a pre-filter that was getting plugged. I have since installed an inline fuel heater (engine coolant) from Arctic Fox (not the camper manufacturer). I have treated my fuel this winter at the standard dose, and along with the inline filter, have had no problems. Have been down to -13F so far. Not sure if the inline heater was needed, but again, I have had no problems this winter.

The FASS has connections for plumbing into the engine coolant, which should give quite a bit of fuel heating capacity. Not sure if this is necessary, but it is not a good feeling to be stranded on the side of the road in the winter!

Fuel pressure stays at a steady 18 to 20 psi.

If I had to do it over again, I would still go with the Glacier.

Any one compare the Walbro style they have to their Fuel Boss mechanical style? I'm getting ready to pull the trigger and I'm almost positive I'm going with the Glacier kit (GFS-392), filter, and their big line kit. But for another $100 I can get the mechanical pump... . But would that supply too much PSI?

I'm happy with my 392. Had it about a year now with no problems except i did clog my inline filter once. solid 15+ psi at idle, and around 13 psi WOT. As you can see in my sig, i am dumping plenty of fuel but the walbro keeps up just fine.

I have had my pump for about a year and a half. At first I had the regulator sick open because of debris, and then I had a problem with very low pressure at WOT. Turned out that my fuel tank was full of black slugde and the strainer on the pick up tube was cloged. After the fuel tank was clean and free of any debris everything has been fine. 19-20 psi at idle and 15-16 psi WOT and blowin smoke.

Put a 392 pump on last summer after killing 3 factory lift pumps, richard has a complete kit with good instructions. It's soo nice not to worry how long this one will last. Now it's a easy fix. :-laf

I put one on mine several months ago after the factory LP got weak (wouldn't shut off within a few seconds of turning the key on) and my mileage kept getting worse. It holds 15-18lbs now and like everyone else has said, it's a complete kit with good instructions and an easy install.

Great system

I have had the Glacier system in mine for 6 months. I noticed it ran better, idled better - less vibration, more linear throttle, pulled stronger right away. Truck seems happier if that is possible. It seems it never ran that well even when new. :) My old LP had gotten down to about 11 at idle and 8 wot. Now is 18 down to 17 at WOT.

Have not had any trouble with plugging up yet.

I put the 392 with big line kit on almost a year ago and love it never had a problem.

Great customer service, and straight forward install. I also have been wondering about the mechanical pump wondering if thats the way to go. I don't think that product was available when I bought my 392.

I might of gone with the mechanical pump.

Maybe we can hear some feedback from guys that have the mechanical pump.

Either way if you choose the 392 you will be happy.
