I have been looking at the Glock23 but the Beretta Px4 storm looks pretty good, but havent heard alot about it? Anyone know which might be better ?

I prefer the Glock, but it is best if you can shoot all of them before you decide.

+1

This is one of those threads that can go viral with all the personal preference.

:)

I hated the 92FS trigger pull so much I have never even picked up another berreta. But a friend of mine loves his. There is no accounting for taste...

Whatever feels best in your hand will be best for you. Really, that is all that matters. The Beretta and Glock are fine products. Try to shoot one if you can before you decide.

For me, the "best feel in my hand" and "shoot before you decide" was a Daewoo DH-40 Mk II. A fine piece of machinery in . 40 SW, as if someone measured my hand and built the instrument to fit it. Points and returns perfectly.

Do what feels best for you. The Beretta will probably be made in the USA. The Glock is Austrian. The Daewoo is South Korean.

If your lucky, a local range will have rental guns you can try. The one that you shoot the best and feels the best is the one to buy. Check the warranty the gun maker gives with their product, that will tell you a lot. Having been around guns all my life and working in several gun stores, I can tell you a lot of gun makers will warranty repairs well past the warranty period.

Like what was already said, you have to go with what feels best for you. I have a Glock 22 that I love. Fits my hand perfectly. My buddy has a Beretta 9mm (not sure which exact model), but I don't like the way it fits in my hand. Doesn't feel natural to me.

Glock

Can't go wrong with a G-23. I have carried and shot one for many years. Also good home defense weapon. Good CCW gun too

Just for the heck of it, I bought a G-36 and love that gun even more. It is now my everyday carry weapon.

No matter what, get some training and practice as much as you can.

Glock

Glock hands down for this reason.

we carry em at work, I have witnessed one get run over by a pick up truck, picked up and fired during a situation we had. Other than being scratched up pretty good it was fine.

They are tough as nails, more than accurate enough for the defensive/combat hand gun that they are, eat pretty much anything you load em with and in over 10k rounds of both factory ammo and cheap reloads at requals my Dept issued G23 has never had a hiccup.

All this said you MUSt carry and shoot the gun that YOU are most comfortable and confident with.

I carry a Glock 23 every day. It is bigger than what I would like to carry. However, I know that if I need to use it, it is going to shoot every time. Has the most dependable reputation of any hand gun out there. Again, it is a big gun to conceal.

I will highly recommend the Glock. You should shoot choices first to be sure. I have a Glock 21 and a Sig P226 both for about 20 years and love both. I recently bought a Glock 27 which is the sub compact frame in . 40 cal. and with the mag finger extention is very comfortable and easier to conceal. I am now using the G27 as my CCW weapon of choice. In 20 years I have not had a mis-fire or anything else with the Glock. It is almost as if all auto pistols are comparing themselves to Glock, there is a reason for this. But it is still a personal choice.

I prefer the glock it's what I carry as a duty weapon. But it all comes down to what gun can you handle, shoot the best. Try them both out good luck.

I had (still have) a Glock 22 for years. I hated that gun. The trigger pull was like crushing a plastic soda bottle. The sights are as cheap, blocky, and unrefined as possible.

It was a used cop gun with the New York trigger (extremely heavy pull that some genius decided would somehow prevent unintentional adrenaline discharges by poorly trained cops who kept their finger on the trigger. Never mind the fact that such a heavy trigger made the gun incredibly inaccurate and the dangers that come from missing your intended target are as bad or worse than accidental discharges. )

But it ALWAYS functioned.

Then I discovered the wonderful world of aftermarket Glock components and improvements. You can build an entire Glock -- purely custom to suit YOU -- from scratch and do it very cheaply compared to other guns.

A new trigger assembly, recoil spring and rod, barrel, sights, etc. later, I now love that Glock! It shoots fantastic and is still as reliable as always. I would say "more reliable", but you cannot improve on 100% reliable. It is also as fun to hotrod and modify and improve as any Camaro or 4x4 pickup I ever owned. But I don't see how anyone could ever like a box-stock Glock.

i have a g23, bought it used from a friend. i like it, nice to carry, a little heavy but not terrible. it has a lightened trigger 2. 5 or 3 lb, night sights and a lazermax just for effect. nice simple gun, not bad recoil and fires any kind of ammo with no problems.
