I had (still have) a Glock 22 for years. I hated that gun. The trigger pull was like crushing a plastic soda bottle. The sights are as cheap, blocky, and unrefined as possible.
It was a used cop gun with the New York trigger (extremely heavy pull that some genius decided would somehow prevent unintentional adrenaline discharges by poorly trained cops who kept their finger on the trigger. Never mind the fact that such a heavy trigger made the gun incredibly inaccurate and the dangers that come from missing your intended target are as bad or worse than accidental discharges. )
But it ALWAYS functioned.
Then I discovered the wonderful world of aftermarket Glock components and improvements. You can build an entire Glock -- purely custom to suit YOU -- from scratch and do it very cheaply compared to other guns.
A new trigger assembly, recoil spring and rod, barrel, sights, etc. later, I now love that Glock! It shoots fantastic and is still as reliable as always. I would say "more reliable", but you cannot improve on 100% reliable. It is also as fun to hotrod and modify and improve as any Camaro or 4x4 pickup I ever owned. But I don't see how anyone could ever like a box-stock Glock.
