Yesterday truck wouldn't start turn the key on and the glow plugs just flashed on off but turned over. Had to plug it in for 4 hours then it started. Drove it to town everything seamed to be ok. Today it did the same thing but the engine won't even turn over. It has been setting since November, I drove it to make sure was good because I am leaving on a run on monday. It hasn't done this before. It has started in munch colder weather. So is there something in the computer that decides it just to cold to start and you have to plug it in. Because where I am going there is no place to plug it in. Of all the dodges we have had in this bissness this one has been the most unrelyable.

Grid heaters or relays possibly bad. Really, should not need the grid heaters to start until you drop well below zero. Need to scan for codes and see if the system has stored DTC's that would shed some light.

Truck been "setting" since Nov? You have been keeping the batteries charged and warmer than outside in the cold cruel world, haven't you?

Got it in the shop we had to jump it. I hate doing that we have had so many electrical issues I am afraid to plug something into the dash let alone jump it. But anyways I pulled one of the batteries and one tested real good and the other not even half that. So I think one froze. The batteries being connected together is why I got a ok reading earlier. It's is odd how well it cranked it over yesterday after sitting for so long and then today one battery is gone. They are good looking batteries with handles on them, I wonder who makes them for dodge? From the time the truck was new it always seemed to crank over slower then it should, but was never an issues. Napa is the only place open so thats what it's going to get, there suppose to be Deka I am ok with that.

Thanks guys

Had a similar situation with 2014. Service rep said they should be load tested separately also for some reason it is mostly the passenger side battery. They seem to have a three year life, mine was three years to the month when it failed.
