"New Chapter"

FLORIDA????

The day started out damp and dark. I woke up thinking I'd wash Rambi-slayer for our event at Genesee Valley Dodge, but decided against it, since we would be dirty by the time we got there anyway.

I arrived about an hour early, but it turned out to be two hours early because Steve thought it would be funny to make us wait. Two BAD boys were already there by the time I arrived.

At around 11:00 everyone started rolling in and we all had a grand time getting acquainted and re-acquainted. GVD staff greeted us with hot coffee. A polish steak dinner was soon served and then we adjourned to the garage for a little hands-on training with Dave65's truck. A couple of GVD mechanics gave us hints and loaned us tools, while we tore Dave's engine up, putting in his new injectors and gauges.

Later, when the work was done, we moved outside and found that the sun had arrived and it was much warmer. We shot some group pictures, BSed some more, went for BOMB rides in each other's trucks and did the door prize drawings. I was the lucky guy who won the main prize, thanks to a few ahead of me who turn it down #ad

Most of us didn't leave until well after the GVD staff went home.

12 trucks attended and we signed on two new members.

Thank you GVD for your hospitality and generosity

Doc

I would like to thank the GLTDR and GVD for putting this on also. I had a good time. It was nice to meet everyone. 710 miles round trip, but was worth it.

Edit: the look on Dave's face after the test drive was worth the drive!!LOL

I had a blast as well. Genesee Valley Dodge in Flint, MI is a GREAT dealer if anyone ever needs service is in this area. They were VERY gracious hosts, I couldn't believe they let us use one of their service bays for the BOMB session! Now Doc, part of the deal with that alarm is that YOU have to install it - that's why I gave it away so I didn't have to! #ad
It was great seeing all the guys again - lots of new faces.

Day two of the event (the drag racing) I was the ONLY one who showed up! Where were you guys? #ad
Oh well, I had a blast anyways and made my goal of breaking into the 15's - 15. 784 @ 87. 97 mph!! Here's the story: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/ubb//Forum5/HTML/001099.html
