WI Get Together for Feb. 15th

TS Performance All Diesel Challenge

Hello all,

Jeremy Sweeten (Case500D) and I are trying to put an event together for February 22 in West Lafayette, IN. What we have thought about doing is meeting for an early lunch, and then going to Scheid Diesel here in Lafayette for some general information. What we suggested to Scheid is some routine maintenance tips such as adjusting the valves or timing on a first generation truck and maybe an injector swap on a second generation truck. They are pretty open for ideas and so are we. The date is not positive, but they would like to know somewhat of a head count. What we wandered is if there is any interest in this? Let us know.

Thanks,

Kess

I'm in!!

unless something really unexpected comes up. Have you guys already talked to Les? I'd really like to see a pump on a stand or something.

Where are we eating?Oo.

I think we are going to eat at Steak and Shake. It is located at US 52 and SR 26 in Lafayette. If I can get the '94 away from the wife, it will be one of the retiming victums. It should be a lot of fun. Hope everyone can make it.

Everyone,

Scheid has agreed to host the get together for the 22nd of February. If any of you that are coming have any other ideas of what you want to see, let us know and we will talk to Les at Scheids about what can be done. I wouldn't mind seeing their pulling truck a little closer myself, but that's just me.

We still could take a few more. I think at last count we had approximately 12 people coming.

Thanks,

Kess

Here is the scoop

Hi Guys,

Kess and I met with Les at Scheid Diesel in Lafayette this afternoon. Here are the plans for Febraury 22. Meet at 10:00-10:15 for coffee and donuts and start everything at 10:30 in the morning. The idea is to break 15 or so people up into 3 smaller groups and have each group go to the different displays/demonstrations. There will be a P7100 pump on the test stand. They are going to run it with a stock plate and then put in an aftermarket plate and show the difference in the torque curves, fueling rate, etc. There will be a KDP jig and front cover display showing where the KDP is and how to fix it. Sorry, they won't be repairing any on that day. A 1994 Ram is going to have the P-pump retimed (my wife's truck). They are going to show valve adjustments and injector removal and installation. It is very possible there will be a 2003 Ram there from the local D-C dealer that we can all look at. There will also be quite a bit of product information available. The best part is that Scheid is going to provide us with lunch from Subway. Not sure about the costs, if any, but will let you know. During lunch we can watch the pulling video from last year's ralley at Scheid. We are planning to finish up by 2:30 pm. Les has done a great job at planning this event, so I think it will be well worth your time. Please PM or e-mail Kess or I if you can make it. This will be a great time to answer any questions you might have and also to meet some of the local diesel nuts. 15 plus people would be great!

Jeremy

BMinet,

I hope you can make it. One of our goals is to get some new guys (like me) involved. See you in a couple of weeks.

rcaldwell,

There are a lot of places to stay in the Lafayette area. You will be within 5 miles of several hotels when you are at Scheid. The best thing I can suggest is to do an internet search. Hope to see you there.

Jeremy

Count me in, Jeremy. Sounds like you and Kess have some good stuff planned.

Any chance of a VE pump being around to look at the internals? And how about the pulling truck Kess mentioned?

John,

Well the Scheid pulling truck has had engine troubles, so its a no go. I am unsure on the VE pump, but I will ask Thursday when Kess and I meet with Dan Scheid and Les. We will keep everyone updated.

Jeremy

No the truck won't be there, but Kent (the guy who runs their puller) will be. He is a really good, friendly, and knowledgeable fellow. If there would be any questions about their truck, I am sure he would answer them.

Kess

Wow, it sounds like a great event, (NICE WORK GUYS) but I will be watching my son. Seven hours each way sounds like a bit too much for a 4 year old.
