4 cylinder Cummins Performance?

Wiring for Air Conditioning without having ECM/PCM etc.

I am currently using a turbo400 trans in a chevy 3500 and want to switch to a 4L80E. Has anyone used a stand alone computer kit for one of these trans?

If so what did you use for a tps switch or for the tach feed? I would also like to use a nv4500 but I am having trouble finding a clutch pedal assembly for my 89 3500. Any help would be appreciated. Pmartinez

A stand alone computer should come with every thing to make the trans shift, including a tps if it needs it. Check these guys out www.the-transmission-center.com www.tciauto.com they should be able to help. the one site has a 4L80 non electric, manual shift though.

A clutch pedal assy out of any 73-87 chevy pu should work, as long as your pu is that body style.

You can run a tach off of the "W" terminal on your alternator, I think itss called the "W" terminal anyway. If your alternator does not have this terminal an alternator shop should be able to install one for you. Most aftermarket tachs run one of four ways, distributor, alternator, hall effect, mechanical. A hall effect would also work if you have a place to mount the sensor.

Hope some of this info helps

I was going to put a 4L80E in a 69 chevy pickup back in the 90's and at the time looked pretty seriously at JET Performance out of california they had a stand alone computer for the 4L80E for i think about $600. . i still have that transmission sitting in a box at my dads house in AZ. If you are interested in a transmission PM me It will be Cheap!

You will need to slightly modify the pressure arm on the clutch pedal to accept the master cylinder rod for the clutch. I used the diagonal weird clutch master out of the mid 85-87 trucks without any problems, I made up a steel braided line and utilized the dodge slave cylinder, easy fix.

I believe I have a few pedal assemblies for the older chevy body styles. If you really can't find one, let me know. I need one for my suburban, but the rest are for sale if need be. (just need to find them).

The newer body style trucks are actually easier than you think to find the pedals for. The 1/2 ton cabs were equipped with the little 5 speeds alot. You're just not looking in the right places. Try Spalding truck parts/ salvage in Spokane, Washington. They ship anywhere and have one of the largest yards in the northwest. If you can't find what you need there, there are some other national yards that can ship out to you as well. I can check the contacts I have in Canada through friends in Montana if all else fails.

The Northwest is more common to find manual transmission trucks than the Southwest. (more farms, less soccer hags). Let me know if you still strike out, I can make some calls if all else fails.

LNeshem please pm back with a phone # Iwould like to look at that trans. Not sure that my mailbox is working right. Thanks P. martinez
