Diesels For Swapping!!

Hello,

I have heard that you can get an after market controller for the GM 4L80-E trans. Does anyone know where a person can get one?

Also, does anyone know of a company that makes an adaprter so that the Cummins can be mounted to the 4L80-E

Thank you,

Jason

Lookup the information for Emjay Engineering... . an electrical engineer that works for that company (maybe even owns it... I don't know... ) has designed a controller for a GM LS1/LT1 gasser V8 with a 4L80-E behind it.....

Another source is JET... . they make HP Chevy trannies (4L60/80-E, TH-350, TH-400, 4L60 or 700-R4) for racers and motorhomes... . I don't have any other contact info... but there are always advertisements for them in "Four Wheel and Off Road" magazine.

The good news is that the Cummins 4BT and the 6BT use the same bell housing adapter. So, if you can find a 4BT bell housing adapter that is for a GM (Chevy bolt pattern) TH-400 or an SM-465... you're in business. The 4BT/TH-400 and 4BT/SM-465 combinations were used in old bread trucks and are allegedly plentiful in the junkyards... . even though I have yet to find an abundant source of them.

Hope this helps,

Matt
