GM Introduces Supplier Pricing

Today GM announced that starting 14 November they will offer all their vehicles at "Supplier Pricing + $100" through 3 January. This despite repeated insistance that no incentive programs would be released in order to "ween the public from incentives".



I'm amazed that they caved in so easily, and I'm a little confused at their strategy. I mean, sales have tanked (that's an understatement), but I can't believe that only 2 months after the end of employee pricing they're right back at it again (although supplier pricing is not quite as low as employee pricing).



If you're in the market for a GM vehicle (except Lucerne, Corvette, and Solstice), you might want to wait until Monday to buy it.

Is this the new "we're-going-broke-so-let's-give-them-away" pricing strategy??



If GM wants to get out of it's current dire circumstance, it needs to BUILD its way out, not MARKET its way out.



If they built a high-qualitym reliable, durable car that felt SOLID like many Japanese brands do, then I'd venture to say they wouldn't be in such dire straits.



It's not a sector thing; Honda and Toyota seem to be doing just fine. .



IF YOU BUILD IT (a quality car), THEY WILL COME!!
